At the moment, I’m sitting in Jacó, Costa Rico in a coffee shop for WiFi. I spent $6 USD for their free WiFi. Also, I love coffee.

Antigua was beautiful. Definitely way more tourists than Chicamán. More expensive than Chicamán but cheaper than Jacó. I would return to Antigua if I had the opportunity.

Training and debrief was amazing. Training was a fire hydrant worth of information. Things that aren’t totally new to me but maybe a new light to them or how they were introduced. Things like:

  • Kingdom of God
  • Prayer life and power of prayer
  • Our soul tube and what flows through it
  • Footholds and strongholds
  • Holy Spirit and Holy Spirit Baptism
  • Spiritual Gifts according to who gives them and for what purpose.
  • Sharing faith

It was so much information I was honestly overwhelmed for three days. After catching onto the action of receive and digest later I realized the worth of what was being shared.

Debrief was also great. Learning more about my team and how we function is so imperative. We are in an all squad month now so our team has been able to grow and learn with all of our squad mates!

Costa Rica has been wonderful so far. Jacó is interesting to say the least. Learning about local culture is maybe a bit difficult. Tourist come here not only for the waves, beach, and surf but also for the sex industry. It’s part of normal life here. We have an 8pm curfew so we are not out and about at night being introduced to that culture.

We have also paired up with the local church here, Horizon Church, doing things for them along with the Chamber’s of Commerce. We also meet for small group trainings and ministry. Each of our teams has something different to do. I’m excited to lean into what God is calling me to do. Finally stepping out of myself into a higher calling.

  1. Hi Jenna so happy about your experiences that you are having. It sounds so awesome. That is great that you are encouraging all to listen to God and have confirmation of what you are hearing. I too am doing that too and finding it so rewarding and knowing that God actually speaks and lets me know His perfect plan for me and things can change all around us and sometimes it takes time to see the results but patience plays an important part in waiting on God. I am trusting God to change something in our home and I too battle in the Spirit but eventually I will see the results. It is wonderful when the answer comes right away for us human, right? Miss your smile. Supporting you through Spirit and Truth and in prayer for all your adventures. You are loved and remembered very much and your endeavors are all important to us back home. Love you much. Rosie McDonald

  4. Hi Jenna,
I don’t know if you’ve ever been to the Jesus film website by CRU but here’s the link. https://www.jesusfilm.org/watch.html    You can send this link to anyone of the people you’re with throughout your trip and they can watch the Jesus film and other films in over 1800 different languages. It’s a fantastic tool to spread the Gospel message

  5. It is exciting to hear about all the growth opportunities for you. You are like a sponge – absorb it all as you go and when you need it the info can be squeezed out. As you put what you learn into action the knowledge will be reinforced. Your confidence will grow each time you take a step. Thanks for keeping us all posted. We will continue to lift you up in our prayers.,…,,Blessings, Patty
